I am a college student attending Binghamton Uni. and am looking for a job in the fashion Industry. I am currently residing upstate NY b/c of school and will be in the NYC area during the summer. It would be an honor to work with one of the major fashion houses such as DKNY, Calvin Klein, J. Crew etc. Please let me know what is available.

You may call any of the fashion houses you mentioned and ask the HR department what temp agencies they use, then register with those agencies. Generally the work would be clerical/office assistance requiring knowledge of MS Office.
The feedback we get from people interested in entertainment and fashion is that they may get temp jobs but don't get to participate in the creative side of the business. We think this may be because there are so many people willing to work for free as interns.
One strategy that has worked for some people is to seek to be an intern during the day and temp at night and/or on weekends for needed cash.
